Want to taste crunchy, sweet and healthy “le crunch” apples? You don’t need to go to its country of origins to taste it. Because at Ranch Market Jakarta, various products from France such as apples, food, drinks, household utensils and cosmetics are now available. A French products festival “France at a Glance” was inaugurated at Ranch Market Pondok Indah, last November 14, 2008. A range of quality products from France will be displayed until December 14, 2008.
This event was opened by Harman Siswanto, Director of Ranch Market, Meshvara Kanjaya, Chief of Operations and His Excellency Philippe Zeller, the Ambassador of France. It was enthusiastically welcomed by the guests who filled Ranch Market Pondok Indah that Friday morning.
The occurrence of this festival is due to a joint effort between Ranch Market, the Economic Affairs Department of the French Embassy and Sopexa Indonesia. It is aimed to fulfill the demand for French produce which increased lately in Jakarta, as well as to meet the needs and desires of the French people for French food.
“The reception of France at A Glance is incredible! It is expected to fill the yearning for our favorite French food. Not only that, it is hoped to increase and further develop the relationship between our two countries” said Philippe Zeller. Harman Siswanto also added: “France at A Glance is intended to introduce various French products to Ranch Market loyal customers, and at the same time provide a special shopping experience for the coming year end party”.
A performance from the “French International School” Jakarta added to the celebratory opening of France at A Glance. Students of elementary school age showed their vocal talents confidently entertaining invitees with several songs. After a remarkable performance from the French International School, visitors were invited to taste various food and drinks from France prepared by Ranch Market’s chef while shopping specially flown French products.
This France at A Glance festival will be held for a whole month and marks the first festival held by Ranch Market. During the festival, the Cooking Class will invite French Chef, Antoine Audran, owner and chef at the notorious French restaurant Java Bleu and Rene Gazoti, Ranch Market Pondok.
Indah’s very own Chef Pastry. Also, other Indonesian popular chefs such as Linda Mercier, Bara Patiradjawane, Elisabeth Kristin, Clarissa Halim will also show their expertise in cooking French dishes.
Evian mineral water bottles piled up to form the Eiffel Tower, France’s landmark. Wow!
Visitors tasting Raclette Cheese melted especially with a special pan. Hmm… so tasty and similar to cheese fondue?
