Paw Paw

Paw Paw are a golden and sweet tropical treat, great in salads and desserts. They’re quite large, oval-shaped fruit, with a slight curve in their length. Their skin is very thin and smooth, varying in colour from greenish-yellow to orange. Their flesh is a deep golden-orange, and encases a centre of hard black seeds. They have a sweet, tropical flavour and aroma. Paw Paw contain an enzyme called papain, which can help to tenderise meat – try brushing a slice of Paw Paw across steaks before barbequing. Available all year round, Paw Paw are best eaten fresh, and are delicious in salads, salsas and desserts.
