Queensland blue pumpkins

Queensland blue pumpkins are quite large, with ribbed green-grey skin. Their flesh is orange and relatively dry in texture, with a full flavour. A sub-variety of the Queensland blue is the smaller baby blue pumpkin – these share the same characteristics but are about one-third of the size. Queensland blues and baby blues are both good roasted, boiled or mashed. They’re both available all year round.
