Strawberries

Strawberries are the most popular and readily available berry in Australia. Their skin is very thin, and is covered in tiny seeds. Strawberries are pinkish-red in colour, with lusciously sweet and juicy flesh. Available in Woolworths all year round, strawberries are delicious eaten fresh in salads, used to decorate cakes and desserts, or cooked in tarts, jams and puddings.

To Buy

To Store

Strawberries are best eaten as close to purchase as possible, but can be stored in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.

To Prepare

Wash strawberries before slicing away their green stalks, to prevent water from penetrating the fruit. Place into a bowl of water then lift out and drain on paper towels.
