Nutritions For The Infants

In the early years of life, good nutrition proves to be the major determinant of growth and development for a human being.

0-6 months
For the first four months, breast milk is the most ideal food since it’s the only food naturally designed for your baby and it contains all the essential nutrients needed for development during baby’s first six months. The first liquid produced by the breasts is called colostrum, which gives excellent antibodies to protect your baby’s health in its first few days of life. Advantages for the breastfeeding mom; your body shape will return to its previous pre-pregnancy condition much faster and breastfeeding releases relaxing hormones which help to overcome post-pregnancy stresses.

Milk provides all the nutrients needed in a baby until six months old. When reaching its four months of age, a baby is likely to be more settled and around five months of age, average babies will show their teeth and start chewing things or sucking thumbs. These are good indications that babies are ready to be weaned and in this stage you can try to introduce solid food to them. When babies show signs of willingness trying solid food, you can give them small diets and increasingly bigger portion.
